California’s Salton Sea is a man-made lake that was accidentally created in the early 20th century. Recently, it’s fallen victim to drought and pollution. Now, it might have a new future: The arid land around the lake is expected to hold a vast supply of lithium, the resource used to make batteries for electric cars.
