Sales FALL For ALL Japanese Car Brands as Consumers Switch to EVs

Japanese automakers are seeing a sharp decline in EV sales both domestically and abroad, as consumers shift toward more affordable electric models from foreign brands like BYD and hurt by their own heavier reliance on hybrids and slower EV rollouts. For example, in the UK, Honda’s EV sales dropped about 92%, Mazda’s by 76%, and Nissan’s by 69% year-over-year in H1 2025.
