On a trip to Germany’s Future Cleantech Festival, I got to see the engineering behind electrifying heavy industry: HyperHeat’s electric furnace jets pushing past 2000°C, an electric arc furnace turning scrap into liquid steel, and timber floor slabs engineered like tree fibres to replace concrete. Let’s see how it all works!
Huge thanks to the @futurecleantecharchitects1450 for inviting me to see the epic engineering that is electrifying heavy industry!
